Last week in my English 101 class, we got a assignment to create our own playlist which would describe us. Being the music lover that I am, It was quite difficult to only have a total of five songs. After hours of searching through all of my music I finally came up with my five songs. Which includes....

I thought this was a very fun activity.  Being the music lover that I am, it was quite difficult to only have a total of five songs. After hours of searching through all of my music I finally came up with my five songs. Which includes....

1. "I Still Believe" from the musical Miss Saigon

2. "Let it Go" by James Bay

3."She use to be Mine" from the musical Waitress

4. "My Shot" from the musical Hamilton

5. "Breathe" from the musical In The Heights

Why are these songs imported to you, and how and when did you first hear these songs?

These songs are all very important to me because they all come from my favorite shows and artists. All of these songs are also very relatable and I feel like I am very connective to all of the songs. I first heard "I Still Believe"at a local community theatre. I remember feeling so connected to the song that I started crying. I thought I was crazy for crying but, as I looked over both of my shoulders I saw the whole audience in tears as well. As for the other songs, I heard all of the songs for the first time either looking them up on YouTube, or just having late night car drives listing to a bunch of music. I think each song gives a strong connection to my life and can also relate to a bunch of other people as well. Which is another reason on why I love all of these songs so much.

The song is very real, and it shows what women had to go through in the Korean war. As for the other songs, I heard them all for the first time either looking them up on YouTube, or just having a late night car drive listing to a bunch of music. I can definitely say, that I discover the newest music from driving in the car. I think each song gives a strong connection to my life. I  can also relate to a bunch of other people as well through these songs, which is another reason on why I love all of these songs so much.

What does this playlist say about yourself?

I think this playlist says a lot about my personality and how I may think about life. It also says a lot about my personality in the aspect that I love musicals, and often feel a strong connection to each song. I think this playlist also says that I like songs that are very motivational, which helps make me feel more confident within myself, my art and future goals. The songs in my playlist are very deep songs, and I think that everyone can connect to each song within their life, which is what I love most about this playlist.

What would people learn about you, and what would they not learn about you?

I think people would definitely learn that I love musicals. I think people would also learn that I like more of the deep, thoughtful, motivational, and songs that a lot of people can feel connective with. I also like the songs that a a true meaning and story behind them. I think people can learn that I like to be very honest with my self, and that I also like to try to be confident with my self in the work that I do. People wouldn’t learn that I also like a lot of other styles of music like more upbeat music and artists, and also other styles of music than just musicals.

What assumptions (correct or incorrect) might they make about you?

Assumptions people would probably make about me would be that I just like one style of music. When in fact I love all styles of music and listen to all of them. I think people would assume that maybe I am a very shy person (which I can be) They could also assume that I may not be as confident, and that I have big dreams and that I am "not going to throw away my shot"(no pun intended).

Overall, I think my playlist indicates that I am a very determined and hard working person. Being in the fine arts industry can be very stressful. It can also take a toll on your confidence levels. Sometimes, you just need to sit back, and realize that you are not like that other people. You have to be yourself, and show your true personality without the worrying about what others may or may not think of you. I think my playlist also indicates that I try and get more motivated and have confidence in myself through the art that I do on an everyday basis, and hopefully in the future.
